Maison A Project, A House Design in Bakırköy / Istanbul
Maison A Project; It has been developed as an alternative to the plan typology of the Sümerbank row houses in Bakırköy. It questions how we can overcome the difficulties brought about by the use of narrow facades. The project strengthens the relationship of the basement spaces - living room, kitchen and garden - with natural light through the gallery space in the ground floor slab. The use of natural light for the private spaces on the upper floor emphasizes the aesthetic and functional aspects of the project. This approach effectively addresses the use of space and light optimization.
Another issue we emphasized in the housing designs was to separate the living space and private spaces in cross-sectional relationships. The basement, which we solved as the main entrance floor and ground floor, works as the main living space, and private spaces such as bedrooms and wet areas were solved on the 1st floor and attic floor. In terms of establishing these relations, the relations of the stairs were emphasized and brought to the forefront in the use of space.
